Before you write

Including these in your first message usually gets you a fix in one reply:

Android version and device

Model, Android release, and how much RAM the handset has.

Settings → About phone

Gestu version

The build you are running, so we can check it against known issues.

Gestu → Settings → About

What you did, what happened

The steps that led to the problem, and what you expected instead.

Exact wording beats a summary

Local or cloud?

Whether zero-egress was enforced, and whether the request went to the mesh.

Gestu → Settings → General

What we can and cannot help with

  • We can help with the app, the on-device engine, the sandbox, the cloud allowance, billing questions routed through Google Play, and genuine bugs.
  • We can tell you which third-party provider answered a cloud request and what its retention policy says.
  • We cannot recover local data. It is encrypted with keys sealed in your device's hardware keystore and is non-exportable — not by an attacker, and not by us. Back up what matters to you.
  • We cannot retrieve your prompts. We never had them.
  • We cannot process refunds directly; those go through Google Play, though we will help you raise one.

Status and known issues

If the cloud mesh is degraded, the app routes around failed providers automatically and tells you in the interface. The local core is unaffected by provider outages — that is the point of it. If a model you rely on is unavailable, enabling zero-egress and continuing locally is the fastest way back to work.

Privacy and legal requests

Privacy questions and data requests are handled under our Privacy Policy. Because we hold almost nothing about you, most requests resolve to a short answer — but we will always confirm in writing.

Law-enforcement and legal requests should go to the legal address above. We will disclose only what we actually hold, which is a purchase record and any support correspondence — never your prompts, documents, or local data, because we do not possess them.
