The agreement

By installing or using Gestu you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These terms are between you and [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME], a company incorporated in [PROVINCE], Canada.

Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms and describes what data leaves your device. It is worth reading: the short version is that almost nothing does.

What Gestu is

Gestu is an on-device AI assistant for Android. It runs quantized models locally for offline work, offers an optional cloud mesh for questions that exceed the local model, and includes a rootless Linux sandbox for running scripts and local tooling.

AI systems produce incorrect output. Gestu is a tool, not an authority. Verify anything that matters before you rely on it.

Plans and price

• Local Core — $0. The on-device engine, the encrypted local vault, the sandbox, and bring-your-own-provider API keys. Free, with no entitlement to cloud routing.
• Sovereign Pass — $14.99/month. Everything in Local Core plus the managed cloud mesh, the autonomous background heartbeat, and dedicated technical support.

Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise at the point of sale. Google Play may display and charge in your local currency, and may apply local taxes.

The 400M allowance

Token consumption is measured per request as reported by the serving provider. Because providers tokenize differently, the same text may consume different amounts across models; the count we apply is the provider's. Your remaining allowance is visible in the app.

The allowance is per account and resets monthly on your billing anniversary. Unused allowance does not roll over.

Billing, renewal, refunds

• Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play Billing. Google is the merchant of record for the transaction and its terms apply to the payment.
• The subscription renews automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel.
• Cancel any time in Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us as well and we will help.
• If we change the price we will give notice before it takes effect, and you may cancel before the new price applies.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Gestu to:

• break any law, or infringe anyone's rights;
• generate sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises minors in any way;
• produce malware, or attack or gain unauthorised access to systems you do not own;
• harass, defame, or threaten any person;
• resell the cloud allowance, or operate Gestu as shared infrastructure for third parties;
• circumvent the allowance, rate limits, or any technical protection measure.

On the sandbox. The Gestu Build environment is yours to use, and it runs without root inside app storage. You are responsible for what you run in it and for complying with the licences of any software you install.

Your content

You keep all rights to the documents, prompts, code and other material you put into Gestu. We claim no licence over it. Because the on-device core operates locally and we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to license.

Content you deliberately send through a cloud route is transmitted to the selected third-party provider under their terms — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that means.

Availability and support

Technical support is staffed Monday to Thursday, 10:00–19:00, with a target response within 24 hours for requests received during staffed hours. We do not promise uninterrupted service: cloud providers fail, and the mesh is built to route around them, but we cannot guarantee any specific provider or model remains available.

The on-device core does not depend on us. If our cloud infrastructure disappeared tomorrow, local inference, your vault and the sandbox would keep working.

Disclaimers

Gestu is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We do not warrant that AI output will be accurate, complete or suitable for any purpose, nor that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [REGISTERED COMPANY NAME] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of your use of Gestu.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to Gestu is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) CAD $50.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Gestu at any time and cancel your subscription through Google Play. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms — in particular the acceptable use section — or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

If we terminate your subscription for our convenience rather than for your breach, we will refund the unused portion of the current period.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [PROVINCE], Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of [PROVINCE].

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
